My Dog Washes Dishes

Yard work isn't the only chore Petal does around here.

The dishes need scrubbing just as much as the yard needs raking.

"I'm ready to wash some dishes!"

"I've got my scrub brush and the sink is filled with soap and water!"

"Phew! This is hard work!"

"All finished! May I have a cookie now?"

"Just because you have to do icky chores doesn't mean you can't look cute while doing them!"

P.S. If you're thinking "Oh, poor dog!" "What a mean thing to do to the poor little thing!"— think again. Petal didn't mind one bit and happily posed for each picture in exchange for several tasty dog treats. Petal was born to entertain... and be dressed. ;]

Romping in the snow!

Tuesday, with all the snow pictures I shared, I said I would share a few videos, too.

Well, here are those videos meshed (a little sloppily, hah, sorry) into one video.

In it you will see Lassie and Petal running, barking, playing fetch (the wrong way, haha), defending the yard, Lassie rolling in snow and a few of the things he must put up with and endure when he hangs out with me and Petal. Such a patient boy he is. Haha.

We have snow, snow, snow!

As I mentioned yesterday, we got quite a bit of snow Sunday! It snowed all morning and most of the afternoon as well.

The Collies are loving it. I'm enjoying the break from the mud, though I'm not anticipating the break to last very long. It's already nice and sunny today.

These pictures were taken Sunday as we romped around in the snow. I have a few videos, too, which I'll have to post some time.
But for now, enjoy some pictures!

Ella is nutty

Ella had a lot of fun in our Valentine's day snow (the majority of which has melted away already, bummer). A lot more fun than I thought she would.
She likes to rub her body against the fence outside, especially when there's a nice layer of snow over it. She likes to sprinkle the snow over herself and then shake it all off.

Because she's a little nutty.

After rubbing and slinking along the fence,

I get a lovely dusting of snow along my back! I look like a powdered sugar covered Mutt.
Mmm, I like sugar.

Now it's time for the shake off!

And now you'll have that lovely wet dog smell that the humans love so much!

Gotcha! Miss Petal

Today is Petal's Gotcha Day.
Two years ago today she came here to live with us.
And she fit right in, like she's always been here.

To celebrate two years with this crazy, silly, and amazing dog, I thought I would put together some pictures from her very first year with us. One month at a time.
This will be a very image heavy post, of course.
But it's filled with adorable puppy pictures, so how can you resist?
That's right, you can't.
Because saying no to puppies is like saying no to sunshine and happiness.
