He passed away at the vet August 3rd. A necropsy showed that he had pleuritis and died from pneumonia. How he got pleuritis is unknown, they could not find a cause (no injuries, no punctured lungs, no foreign bodies). The doctors who did the necropsy said our vet had Lassie on the correct medications to fight this off, however it was not a good enough concentration. Those who did the necropsy assumed this was because Lassie's vet did not know he had pneumonia. However, while we were not positive about that, his vet DID say "Sounds like pneumonia." when I told her about the fluid-y cough Lassie had that morning before we rushed him back in. So why she didn't give him the concentration of antibiotics needed in order to recover is beyond me. I'm absolutely livid about that. I'm trying not to be though, because I honestly don't know her reasoning for that.</div><div>I'm also trying not to be blindingly angry about the fact that Lassie was already gone when I wrote my last post and I had no idea thanks to a screw up at the vet (someone wrote our phone number down wrong and I guess it took them a whole day to realize they could find the correct number on the back of Lassie's tag; so much for "Favorite Vet"). I found out Sunday evening that he was gone.</div><div>A fact that still seems entirely impossible and completely untrue.</div><div>Yet he is and that is evident by the huge hole I'm left with.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-JKqipoECc8Q/UiI1FzxfBAI/AAAAAAAAAtQ/LfeCbTbBa64/s640/blogger-image--1087041263.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-JKqipoECc8Q/UiI1FzxfBAI/AAAAAAAAAtQ/LfeCbTbBa64/s640/blogger-image--1087041263.jpg"></a></div></div><div><br></div><div>Which is why I vanished. This hurts so much. More than I feel I can handle. I didn't want anyone to say the well intentioned, "I'm so sorry." Or, "I know what you're going through." Because no one is as sorry as I am and though you may know, in theory, what I'm going through (most, if not all, of us has lost a pet at some point in our lives)-- you <i>do not know</i> what I'm going through. I refuse to believe anyone would know exactly what I'm going through. My relationship with Lassie was too unique. His relationship with me was too unique. <i>I</i> don't even know what I'm going through. I've <i>never</i> felt like this before. I've lost pets and human family members before and each loss was so much different from the other. Each of them painful, but each one different.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Q6sMfsZ78XE/UiI1EQH7ZMI/AAAAAAAAAtI/ZP7NUwLWaYg/s640/blogger-image-339594503.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Q6sMfsZ78XE/UiI1EQH7ZMI/AAAAAAAAAtI/ZP7NUwLWaYg/s640/blogger-image-339594503.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>This loss is too much. This loss is too unfair. This loss was too unexpected. I had no warning. Yes, he was wasn't looking so well when we took him to the vet for a weekend stay and yes, I was honestly scared. But I did not believe he was going to die. With Ella, I knew, as we drove to the vet I knew she wasn't going to make the drive there. I held her in the back seat of the car and I said my goodbyes.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jfplWvsNC88/UiI1HcRTh_I/AAAAAAAAAtY/ZnQG4FbRM9w/s640/blogger-image--531433074.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jfplWvsNC88/UiI1HcRTh_I/AAAAAAAAAtY/ZnQG4FbRM9w/s640/blogger-image--531433074.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>I never said goodbye to Lassie. Instead, I demanded that he stay with me. When we got the call that he had passed away, I felt betrayed. Lassie was more obedient than that. He should've stayed like I asked-- <i>begged</i>-- him to. He's my best friend, my motivator, my protector, my everything, I don't know how to keep going without him. I feel broken.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-wpHyTIgXWzA/UiI1IvMRECI/AAAAAAAAAtg/8HO1cEtrpGs/s640/blogger-image-616614318.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-wpHyTIgXWzA/UiI1IvMRECI/AAAAAAAAAtg/8HO1cEtrpGs/s640/blogger-image-616614318.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>The other day, as I cried, I was wondering why this feeling of denial wouldn't go away. Why I still felt like Lassie couldn't possibly be gone. Maybe it's just too soon for the shock to be worn off yet or... maybe Lassie <i>did</i> listen to me after all. Maybe he hasn't left my side at all. I can't imagine him up in Heaven with my other family members, both human and pets, but I can imagine all my other loved ones there, happy and healthy; it seems natural. But when I think of Lassie I can only see him with me, happy and healthy and unfailingly loyal to me and only me. </div><div>Maybe this is why we were cheated out of our goodbye. The goodbye I didn't plan to have until Lassie was at least 15 years old. Maybe we weren't given the chance to say goodbye because we were never meant to. </div><div>This isn't goodbye, it's see you later. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZZoJfdLz930/UiI1NEOz5nI/AAAAAAAAAt4/tie9ThJyZ-8/s640/blogger-image-1927075801.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZZoJfdLz930/UiI1NEOz5nI/AAAAAAAAAt4/tie9ThJyZ-8/s640/blogger-image-1927075801.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>I don't know what your beliefs are, but I truly believe that I will be with Lassie again and I believe that he's still with me. It's the only thing that brings me comfort right now, so if you don't believe this that is fine by me, it honestly is, but be kind if you choose to leave a comment.</div><div><br></div><div>I'm sorry if this post doesn't make sense or if it jumps around a lot; my thoughts are all over the place. Please forgive me if I came across as rude at any point in this post, I honestly didn't mean to sound rude at any point in this post, if I did it was completely unintentional.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-L9nAoN9XLNg/UiI1KO6N69I/AAAAAAAAAto/zCwHYLUGWaA/s640/blogger-image-390748314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-L9nAoN9XLNg/UiI1KO6N69I/AAAAAAAAAto/zCwHYLUGWaA/s640/blogger-image-390748314.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>I can't say when I'll post again, but I can say that I <i><u>will</u></i> post again. Lassie is feeling very under the weather this week. Those of you who follow us on Instagram, Facebook and/or Twitter already know this. But for those of you who don't, here's what's been happening over here...<br />
<br />
Tuesday night Lassie threw up a few times. I didn't think much of it, Lassie's stomach is <i>so</i> sensitive, I just figured he ate some people food that didn't agree with him. He was fine all day Wednesday, so I was sure that was all it was. He was running, playing, eating, drinking and acting his usual self. Despite that, Wednesday night he started throwing up again, this time there was a little bit of blood in his acid-y vomit. Thursday he went to the vet (favorite vet, 45-ish minutes away) and threw up on their floor. It smelled awful. They did some blood work on him and everything looked fine. I can't remember everything they checked, but they checked a lot. Everything was within a normal range. We thought maybe it was a blockage then, though Lassie is not one to eat things he shouldn't, but you never know. He does have a hard time resisting the cooked chicken bones, though 95% of the time we take those straight to the big trash can outside, which the dogs have no access to. But better safe than sorry, so they did x-rays, but found nothing. All looked well, though he did have some gas, and he does have a bit of arthritis in his hips.<br />
<br />
We wondered if maybe he had a stomach ulcer, which just didn't show up in x-rays. So we decided to start some medications for his upset tummy and a possible ulcer. He got a shot of Cerenia, an anti-nausea medication. They also gave him a dose of Sucralfate, for the possible ulcer, and told me to pick up a generic brand of Pepcid from Walmart.<br />
Now he never actually got that last one, because within 30 minutes of being dosed with the first two medications, Lassie started acting funny in the car. His head was swaying and he was having a difficult time lapping up his water. Luckily we were still near the vet, so we went right back over there and had the vet come out to the car to take a look at him. She said his coloring looked good and he didn't appear to be having a reaction. She said he was probably just feeling sick and a little uneasy. She said to take him home and let him sleep it off. We did that.<br />
<br />
Here's my Instagram update from Thursday afternoon: <br />
<img alt=" photo 9a158c8a-8539-4e34-bed5-4e09b8865784.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/9a158c8a-8539-4e34-bed5-4e09b8865784.jpg" />
<img alt=" photo ed4793a2-e2fa-4bcf-957d-ec765a31abe0.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/ed4793a2-e2fa-4bcf-957d-ec765a31abe0.jpg" /><br />
<br />
We had to carry him from the car into the house. He wouldn't walk. Or <i>couldn't</i>, I later realized. I hoped the drugs were just making him a little loopy. We laid him down on his dog cot to get some rest. A little while later, lifting his head became a chore. He could do it, but not for long and not well enough to drink. I started giving him water with a straw (which I later upgraded to a syringe; much easier).<br />
<br />
Instagram update from Thursday Evening:<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo 3285c62a-2696-48d8-a3d7-78b7f3c57393.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/3285c62a-2696-48d8-a3d7-78b7f3c57393.jpg" />
<img alt=" photo 5f566937-0eea-4a81-befe-7d921b32d58c.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/5f566937-0eea-4a81-befe-7d921b32d58c.jpg" /><br />
<br />
All the while I'm trying not to panic to the point of sobbing hysterically. Lassie doesn't like that.<br />
<br />
We got through one worrisome night of me waking up to syringe more water into Lassie's mouth and to help him wobble his way out to the yard to take care of business.<br />
<br />
Friday Morning Instagram update: <br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo 115bc020-024b-4328-acd5-c6782d340dbf.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/115bc020-024b-4328-acd5-c6782d340dbf.jpg" />
<img alt=" photo 68da2ecf-5605-47a4-8892-af6ebc14895c.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/68da2ecf-5605-47a4-8892-af6ebc14895c.jpg" /><br />
<br />
A few hours later, around 10:30 AM or so, Lassie gets up and wobbles around restlessly. I help him through the kitchen, thinking he wants to go outside, but he stops and this yellow, stomach-acid looking, vomit just falls out of his mouth. Then he wobbles his way over to the window that houses the swamp cooler and flops down in front of it. His breathing was labored and instantly I was reminded of my sweet Ella before she passed.<br />
How I managed not to throw up at that point, I don't even know.<br />
I called the vet and told her what was going on. She wanted Lassie in right away. They're 45 minutes away. Do I settle for one of the vets I despise here in town? Or do I take a risk and make the drive?<br />
I called the vet here in town. He was <i>out</i> of town. So was the other vet. The only vet available was almost as far as Favorite Vet.<br />
My Mom, my Dad, one of my sisters, Lassie and I piled into the car and took off. We were making the drive to Favorite Vet. They knew exactly what medications they had given him Thursday and they had his x-rays and blood work on file and, most importantly, they care the most and I trust them.<br />
I spent the drive crying and panicking and trying not to think about a similar drive we made with Ella. Except with Ella we rushed to the nearest vet possible and she took her final breath as we whipped into the parking lot. This could not happen again. I didn't want to do that again. Not now. Not with Lassie.<br />
My Dad turned that 40-45 minute drive into a 30 minute (maybe less, I don't know, it still seemed so long to me) drive. <br />
<span style="font-size: small;">(Thank you Dad for breaking the law for my best friend).</span><br />
<br />
Instagram update Friday Afternoon:<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo 3b7489e2-b2bb-4565-9263-daeaea87a478.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/3b7489e2-b2bb-4565-9263-daeaea87a478.jpg" />

<br />
I gave the vet this <a href="http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/depts-vcpl/drugs.aspx" target="_blank">list</a> of drugs <u>not</u> to use. They promised to review it and took my concerns very seriously.<br />
<br />

Friday night was a very long night. Possibly the longest night I've had in a very long time.<br />
Or so I thought...<br />
<br />
Saturday Morning Instagram update: <br />
<img alt=" photo d4901fbb-1150-4a62-b8b2-8da99de680da.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/d4901fbb-1150-4a62-b8b2-8da99de680da.jpg" />

<i>"prayers" is the last word; it wouldn't fit in my iPhone screen shot. </i><br />
<br />
Saturday night, last night, was a much longer night than Friday. I got very little sleep. I feel like I'm missing an appendage or something.<i> </i>That might sound dramatic but I don't care, this is <i>weird</i>. Lassie has been by my side since I was 13. He's been my best friend. He got me through those awkward and awful teenage years. He got me through a lot of losses. He has taught me so much, from patience to budgeting money. He makes me smile and he makes me laugh. Unfortunately he also makes me completely crazy when he gets sick. He hasn't been <i>this</i> sick before. The one and only other time he spent a night at the vet was after his neuter, nearly 8 years ago.<br />
I miss him.<br />
Petal misses him. She's never been apart from him for this long.<br />
<br />
Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of Ella's sudden passing.<br />
I want good news tomorrow.<br />
I want my boy back.<br />
I have a pretty good feeling I'll get what I want (when I take a deep breath and force myself not to freak out, that is). I just hope I get it tomorrow. <br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo swoon4913.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/swoon4913.png" /><br />
<br />
I'll keep you guys updated, but my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages will be updated first and more often, simply because it is super easy to just type everything up on Instagram and then share it to Facebook and Twitter as well. You're welcome to check those pages for updates (links to them can be found in right sidebar, those images at the top of the sidebar will take you where you want to go). I won't hear anything new about Lassie until tomorrow morning, however. I'll try and post another blog post then. If not tomorrow, then hopefully Tuesday.<br />
<br />
Thank you guys again for all the love and support and well wishes and advise on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter! It means so much to me. I'm sorry I haven't replied to every comment, but I promise I read every one.<br />

<br />
I've been thinking about this incredible dog a lot today.<br />
She would've been 7 years old on Friday, the 26th.<br />
I spent Friday morning stressed and nervous; I was forgetting something.<br />
Late afternoon things calmed down and the day was really turning around. It was becoming a really great day after all.<br />
Then I remembered what I had forgotten: Ella's birthday.<br />
The funny thing (but not "ha ha" funny, strange funny) is, as I remembered what day it was, my mood only improved. It brought a smile to my face. I didn't expect that. I thought I would cry, I didn't.<br />
I miss her. I really miss her. But her birthday, her first birthday since her passing, did not darken what was turning out to be a great day, it only made it better. I don't know why. I can't explain it. I guess I just... felt, somehow, closer to her in a way.<br />
<br />
Today, however, I've been battling the waterworks as I look through her pictures. I miss this bossy, noisy, sweet, weird, funny, overly affectionate, gorgeous mutt.<br />
<br />

I've said it before: this summer has been pretty mild for a Southern Utah summer thus far. We've had many thunder and lightning storms with some rain and we're expected to have storms every day this weekend.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today and tomorrow, however, we're expected to reach a high of 95.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt=" photo fb646c68-e880-461c-b8bc-7964b975960f.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/fb646c68-e880-461c-b8bc-7964b975960f.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So what do we do when it's hot?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We stay inside with the swamp cooler on. ;) We play indoor games like ring around the couch (my Collies are crazy) and tug. We do some training. They play with puzzles or enjoy a bully stick or a frozen KONG (they love a good yogurt and fruit mixture or peanut butter or pumpkin).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt=" photo ab680627-870e-4de3-9958-66127b347152.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/ab680627-870e-4de3-9958-66127b347152.jpg" /><img alt=" photo c0f52d9d-1b3c-460a-a0a6-b40785dfdb72.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/c0f52d9d-1b3c-460a-a0a6-b40785dfdb72.jpg" /><img alt=" photo 665462cd-22b3-4eae-9966-6d4b7ad3ec6d.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/665462cd-22b3-4eae-9966-6d4b7ad3ec6d.jpg" />
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If it's considerably cooler come evening, we'll go outside so they can run and race and play fetch in the yard. Sometimes we'll go out in the mornings before it gets hot. We stay close to home, or the air conditioned car, if temperatures are expected to rise. I keep a rubber, BPA free, collapsible bowl in the car and bring 2 bottles of cold water when we leave the house.<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo 3391c89c-db8f-4ad2-b0c3-e78a4b292a6d.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/3391c89c-db8f-4ad2-b0c3-e78a4b292a6d.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<img alt=" photo 879f6896-f427-4f94-aee4-2dbe59cd81ea.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/879f6896-f427-4f94-aee4-2dbe59cd81ea.jpg" /><br />
<br />
I often get asked, "Don't you shave them for the summer?" "Aren't they hot with all that fur?"<br />
Answer: No, I <i>never</i> shave them (excluding between their paw pads and a trim around private areas for the sake of cleanliness). Yes, they do get hot just like many other living creatures do when it's hot out and yes some dogs, just like some humans, don't tolerate the heat as well as others. But shaving them will do them more harm than good, being the double coated breed that they are. Their coat actually protects them from the sun and even the occasional hitch-hiking insect. Their coat not only keeps them warm in the winter, but it keeps them cool in the summer.<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo bfdb705c-e10d-486f-bb2f-e73f2f1fa06b.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/bfdb705c-e10d-486f-bb2f-e73f2f1fa06b.jpg" /><br />
<br />
Some people argue with it, but I stand by it. I would never shave Lassie or Petal unless a medical reason demanded it. If it's too hot for them and all their fur, we stay inside and entertain ourselves until it's cool enough to play a game of fetch outside or go for a walk in the shade. I wouldn't shave my head because it's hot outside like <a href="http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0107192/" target="_blank">Pedro</a> did.*<br />
<br />
Their coats protect them from getting sunburned and being easily bitten by bugs. That's not to say they <i>can't</i> get sunburned or bitten by bugs; Petal's nose gets sunburned if she's out in the sun for a prolonged amount of time with no sunscreen on her nose and determined bugs have forged their way through their coats a few times, but the majority of the time, I find the bug and remove it before it can make it to their skin.<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo d5a6dbdd-0a6c-4edf-8039-74631fd1cd68.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/d5a6dbdd-0a6c-4edf-8039-74631fd1cd68.jpg" /><br />
<br />
I worry it wouldn't grow back properly if I shaved it. I am also 99% sure that they would be extremely uncomfortable without their fur. They would also look ridiculous and would probably never forgive me. I had a lady once tell me, as she ran her fingers through Lassie's coat, that she would shave her Rough Collie every summer and he would hide under the bed for days afterward. Lassie told her off with some barking.<br />
<br />
They'll put up with me putting ridiculous things on their heads, but shaving off their gorgeous coat? I would be in the dog house.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Looking <a href="http://twocolliesandamutt.blogspot.com/2013/07/mostly-wordless-wednesday-play-time.html" target="_blank">ridiculous</a>.</i><br />
<br />
There are many other ways to help keep your dog cool during these hot summer days.<br />
<a href="http://www.theuncommondog.com/" target="_blank">The Uncommon Dog</a> has provided this cute infographic with tips for keeping your dog cool and recognizing early warning signs that your dog is overheating.<br />
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.theuncommondog.com/Images/infographics/dog-days-summer.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo dog-days-summer.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/dog-days-summer.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>(click to enlarge)</i></span><br />
<br /></div>
Some of the tips (like getting a dog house) probably aren't necessary unless your dog lives or spends a lot of time outside. I don't recommend them living outside, but a lot of the dogs where we live do live outside, all year round. But luckily I have yet to see a dog who did <i>not</i> have a dog house and/or shade and water.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My dogs spend very little time outside unsupervised. They have a dog run where they go for potty breaks and that's the only time they're outside without supervision. We have a decent amount of property but only one area of it is fenced (you can see it in the above pictures), apart from the dog run, and it is most certainly not an escape proof fence. Because of that, and the fact that they just don't enjoy being out there alone, they are never out there without a human or two or three. Which means there is always someone there to bring them in right away if the heat begins to be too much.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
How do your dogs stay cool on hot summer days?<br />
I've been thinking about buying a kiddie pool. Think my Collies would be willing to get their feet wet?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yeah, probably not. ;P<br />
<br />
<br />
*Don't worry, I <i>do</i> know there is a huge difference between my head of hair and my Collies' bodies of fur. ;) </div>

<br />
<img alt=" photo Chewy-logo.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/Chewy-logo.png" /><br />
<br />
Today we are doing a review of <a href="http://www.chewy.com/s/true-chews?dept=dog" target="_blank">True Chews</a> from Chewy.com!<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo petalchewyreviewbox.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/twocolliesmuttreviews/petalchewyreviewbox.png" /><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>"Open it, oh Thumbed One!"</i></span><br />
<br />
The lovely folks at Chewy.com sent us 1 bag of <a href="http://www.chewy.com/dog/true-chews-lils-pig-ear-pieces-dog/dp/45361" target="_blank">Lils pig ears</a> and <a href="http://www.chewy.com/dog/true-chews-beef-bully-sticks-6-dog/dp/45640" target="_blank">1 six inch bully stick</a> to try.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<img alt=" photo petalchewyreviewtreats.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/twocolliesmuttreviews/petalchewyreviewtreats.png" /><br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Lils pig ears are for dogs 20 lbs and under. In our case they made the perfect sampling size!<br />
There were three ears in the bag plus one teeny tiny one.<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo c7849b43-3bf5-4cb2-8af8-51341b614759.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/twocolliesmuttreviews/c7849b43-3bf5-4cb2-8af8-51341b614759.jpg" /> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<img alt=" photo petalchewyreviewpigears.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/twocolliesmuttreviews/petalchewyreviewpigears.png" /><br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They're a pretty decent size. I bet a small dog would be in heaven and get lots of chewing time from it. Lassie and Petal finished them off in under 5 minutes. They LOVED them. I loved that they're made in the USA. But the little hairs still on the ear made me cringe. My dogs have had pig ears before (usually when I take them to a pet store and they snatch one off the shelf or I tell them to "pick something!" That's what they usually go for), but I've never noticed little hairs. Then again, I've never looked too closely either. ;)<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt=" photo petalchewyyummypigear.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/twocolliesmuttreviews/petalchewyyummypigear.png" /><br />
<br />
They're a very messy treat. I was glad I had Petal and Lassie (trust me he got some, in fact, he got 2 of the 3; I just didn't get any decent pictures) eat them on the kitchen floor/their dog cot.<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo 79fdaa7f-e006-4e25-989a-66f026a2985f.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/twocolliesmuttreviews/79fdaa7f-e006-4e25-989a-66f026a2985f.jpg" /><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>"Licking crumbs off the floor is a little difficult with an overbite."</i></span><br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I gave the bully stick to Petal, since Lassie got 2 of the 3 pig ears.<br />
It was a very thin little bully stick and it only lasted her about 8 minutes! Six inch bully sticks usually last my dogs somewhere between 20-60 minutes depending on thickness <span style="font-size: x-small;">(yes, I hear you giggling ;P)</span>.<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo 5601adb8-27f1-44c4-a782-66fa2389b76d.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/twocolliesmuttreviews/5601adb8-27f1-44c4-a782-66fa2389b76d.jpg" /> <span style="font-size: small;"><i> </i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>Thin little bully stick. </i></span><br />
<br />
These bully sticks would be perfect for little dogs/dogs that aren't strong chewers at all. They wouldn't be worth the money for us though. I expect the pricey chews to last a minimum of 20 minutes. This didn't even last half that.<br />
On the plus side, I didn't notice any smell and I sat right next to Petal as she ate it.<br />
<br />
Lassie & Petal give the pig ears 3 1/2 out of 4 paws up for deliciousness and being made in the USA. They're a little pricey though.<br />
<a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><img alt=" photo halfpawrate2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/halfpawrate2.png" /><br />
<br />
Petal gives the bully stick 1 paw up. It was tasty and made in the USA, but it was gone in a flash; not for strong chewers.<br />
<a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"></a><br />
<br />
While I wouldn't buy True Chews' bully sticks for my dogs, I would happily buy any of their other treats, and I do think their bully sticks would be the perfect size for soft chewers/small dogs.<br />
<br />
Of course Chewy.com still has all our love. Our package arrived promptly and the goodies were packaged well.<br />
The dogs get excited when a package from Chewy.com comes. Even the cats come running to see if it's their usual order of food.<br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><i> Last night's view. Pretty darn adorable right?</i></span><br />
<br />
I went out of town for the weekend and got back yesterday afternoon. I was only gone two nights, but I still missed my crazy Collies. I think they missed me too. Petal curled up and laid next to me all. night. last night. It isn't unusual for her to sleep with me all night, however it was a little unusual for her to sleep so close to me (close enough to prevent me from getting up all night, which was fine by me) all through the night. She wanted to be <i>absolutely</i> sure that I wasn't going to go anywhere. ;)
<br />
<br />
My dogs make me feel so loved.<br />

They're identical! ;P<br />
<br />
My parents have been calling her Dobby.<br />
"Dobby want a sock?" Mom says. Penny licks her face.<br />

I'm sure you're all probably wondering why she's still here.<br />
Penny will be staying indefinitely. My sister wants to keep her.<br />
It's a long story that doesn't belong on this blog. ;) But basically: Penny needed a new home, we were going to find that new home until Sister #2 said she wanted to keep her and would take care of her.<br />
And that's that.<br />
<strike>Dobby</strike> Penny will stay.<br />
Might be nice to have a house-elf around.<br />

Today we are reviewing Devotion dog spray from <a href="http://www.cardinalpet.com/vivaladogspa/index.html">Viva La Dog Spa</a>!<br />
<br />
Viva La Dog Spa makes— yes, you guessed it: dog grooming supplies such as shampoos, conditioners, sprays, and more.<br />
Viva La Dog Spa has a fun and pretty French look and a adorable Poodle mascot, Lilly Claire.<br />
Their products are made with Solar Power and their bottles, labels, bands and pumps are recyclable! They also pre-cycle whenever possible. You can read more that <a href="http://www.cardinalpet.com/vivaladogspa/green_ollds.html" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
A little about Devotion and what it was named for:<br />
<i><span style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; text-align: left;">"Because there’s no one more loyal than your dog, we named our new designer fragrance, </span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; font-weight: 700; line-height: 18.1875px; text-align: left;">DEVOTION</span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; text-align: left;">. DEVOTION is not only the main characteristic of our dogs, it’s our promise to them too – to be devoted! It’s a relaxing blend of soft floral scents that’s both playful and feminine. Imagine a light mist of fresh flowers with the soft, clean scent of raspberry on a warm day. It’s a winner!"</span></i><br />
<br />
Our bottle of Devotion arrived wrapped up sweetly.<br />
<img alt=" photo devotionspray.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/devotionspray.png" />
<br />
<br />
It comes in a decent sized bottle at 6 Fl. Oz. The bottle itself has a simple and pretty look.<br />
Pretty
also describes the scent. It's a very pretty scent. It smells so pretty
that I refrained from using it on Lassie. He says
it's bad enough I named him "girl", I don't need to go and make him
smell like one too. ;) <br />
<br />
It smells nicer than most human perfumes. I'm tempted to use it on myself.<br />
In
fact, I did. I sprayed a bit of it on each wrist, just to sample it
before I sprayed it on Petal. I have really sensitive skin and I didn't
want to spray something I could potentially be allergic to on Petal,
seeing as I'm often rubbing my face against her fur and kissing on her.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<img alt=" photo petaldevotion.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/petaldevotion.png" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br />
Unfortunately the scent only seems to last about two days.<br />
It took a few tries to get the spray nozzle to work that first time, but after that it has worked like a charm! Although, it doesn't spray the way I was expecting it to. It doesn't drench Petal or come out in a stream or anything, it just doesn't come out in the really light, but wide spread, misty spray I expected it to. Because of this it only covers a small area of fur, but if I rub it around I can get it to cover a larger area.<br />
<br />
I haven't had any severe reactions to it, but (and it very well may be just me, I am sensitive to some perfumes, so I'm keeping that in mind), it is strong at first. Petal doesn't always appreciate it that much when it first goes on, but after I rub it in it doesn't seem to bother her. I never use more than one spritz.<br />
<br />
The ingredients of this fragrance are no where to be found. They're top secret. So this spray may or may not be a suitable fit for dogs with allergies.<br />
<br />
<img alt=" photo devotionspray2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/devotionspray2.png" /><br />
<i>Pretty little bottle, isn't it?</i><br />
<br />
Our over all rating of Viva La Dog Spa's Devotion spray:<br />
I give it 4 out of 5 hearts; it smells so pretty, but initially it's rather strong <span style="font-size: small;">(so it may not be a good choice for the really sensitive type)</span>. I almost feel funny about spraying it on Petal because it smells so much like a human perfume, LOL.<br />
<img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" height="20" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" width="25" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><br />
<br />
Petal gives it 2 1/2 out of 4 paws, 'cause that first spray sometimes makes her sneeze a big sneezie.<br />
<a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><img alt=" photo halfpawrate2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/halfpawrate2.png" /><br />
<br />
To be perfectly honest, unless someone directly asked me about it ("Your dog smells so good! What did you use? Where can I get it?" for example), this wouldn't be the first grooming splash/spray I would recommend.<br />
<br />

Look what we got over the weekend!<br />

<br />
We won <a href="http://dachshundnola.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Dachshund Nola</a>'s giveaway! We got 25 bully sticks from <a href="http://bestbullysticks.com/" target="_blank">Best Bully Sticks</a>. Lassie and Petal were both very excited by this package. Petal ripped it open and put a few small holes in the resealable package in her enthusiasm, oops. Luckily I was able to force them into our treat jar. ;)<br />
<br />
Thank you Nola and Best Bully Sticks!<br />
<br />
How was everyone's weekend?<br />
<br />
Our weekend was crazy. Mostly thanks to this dog here:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 8f380451-e60c-43c6-94f6-f64a01d33fcc.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/8f380451-e60c-43c6-94f6-f64a01d33fcc.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Our weekend went from relaxing, to stressful, to filled with relief and exhaustion.<br />
Lassie was up sick from 3 AM - 7 AM Saturday morning. He was drinking plenty of water and nothing suspicious was coming out of him, so I wasn't too worried until his diarrhea turned to blood. At that point I was exhausted, which is probably why I was <i>so</i> scared when I lifted his tail and found blood all over his romp. I knew it was normal to have some bleeding after suffering through so much diarrhea, but I had never seen him bleed this much before.<br />
That discovery led to lots of crying to my Mom over the phone. I was sure I had done something to make him so sick. She and my Dad were out of town, about 2+ hours away, with our only car, but they rushed home as soon as I called. They picked me and Lassie up and then drove another forty-five minutes to the vet in another town.<br />
Why? Because my parents are awesome, but also because our Usual Vet wasn't working yesterday, Dr. Jerk Face Vet was and we avoid him unless it's an absolute emergency. This wasn't an emergency, so we made the drive to our Favorite Vet Office. We go there whenever we can because I feel they actually listen to me, even if I'm just rambling on and worrying over silly things, they listen and they're so supportive. They make sure I get all my questions asked and answered before they send me on my way. Our Usual Vet is nice and he seems to know what he's doing, but I feel like he only half listens to me and he doesn't take the time to explain anything. It's frustrating.
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo e88031b1-02ef-4e1a-bef2-ce8ec4502649.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/e88031b1-02ef-4e1a-bef2-ce8ec4502649.jpg" /></a>
<br />
<br />
Saturday at Favorite Vet Office we met a new-to-us vet, Heather. She was very sweet. She listened to everything I had to say and offered feedback, suggestions, and answers to my questions. She even made sure I got all my questions asked and answered before we left. <i>And</i> she found nothing wrong with me feeding a homemade diet with supplements. She's the first vet I've ever told that my dogs eat homemade food because I was worried I would be lectured and/or criticized (too many internet stories of pet owners being chewed out by their vets), but she did none of that. She simply looked at Lassie and said he was living the high life and then told me the current meals I had made up would be perfect for his upset tummy.<br />
<br />
I brought in what I could gather of Lassie's poo for them to take a look at, but it wasn't much. She mentioned colitis, stress, or something he got into (among a few other things). He <i>did</i> get into the trash Friday night and ate something that I couldn't see in the dark kitchen. We're usually careful not to throw away dangerous things in the kitchen trash and instead throw them out in the big trash can outside to avoid the dogs or cats getting into it, but who knows, maybe he got something that just didn't agree with him. There has also been thunder off and on over the past few days and he's not a big fan of thunder.
<br />
<br />
So he's on an antibiotic, a probiotic (in the form of kefir), and a bland diet. The vet told me to call today if he's not feeling any better and she'll give him an anti-nausea shot. He's acting more like his usual self today though, so that won't be necessary. <br />
I probably could've given Lassie a few more days to see if his tummy
troubles would sort out on it's own (as I usually do, so long as there
isn't anything alarming about it), but the blood scared me and he had
been throwing up here and there for a few days prior, so to the vet we
went. The antibiotic he's on seems to be helping, he hasn't thrown up
since Saturday morning. So here's hoping.<br />
<br />
Petal also seems to be feeling better today. She hasn't been sick or anything, but I think I stressed her out Saturday with my worrying and then suddenly taking off with Lassie and leaving her behind. She glued herself to me when we got home and had little to nothing to do with anyone else.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo e425005f-82c1-4250-a9ea-c5053532fd36.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/e425005f-82c1-4250-a9ea-c5053532fd36.jpg" /></a><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i>Snoozing across my chest Saturday afternoon.</i></span><br />
<br />
But today she's back to her playful, goofy self.<br />
<br />
Busy, busy weekend.</div>

<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 34f29acf-69e1-492a-8a36-489edb92f938.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/34f29acf-69e1-492a-8a36-489edb92f938.jpg" /></a><br />
It has been a rainy week, but this morning has been especially rainy so far. We had a bit of very loud thunder earlier and some lightning as it rains on and off. Hopefully we'll get a walk in later today, but for now we're snuggling and playing inside.<br />
<br />
Speaking of snuggling... I found Petal sleeping like this a few nights ago:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo d16268dc-a32d-4542-8450-ac88478456dc.jpg" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/d16268dc-a32d-4542-8450-ac88478456dc.jpg" /></a><br />
She slept like this, cocooned in a pillow, for quite awhile. Silly girl.<br />
<br />
I hope all you Americans had a fun and safe Independence day. I watched all the fireworks through my camera.<br />

<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Chewy-logo.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/Chewy-logo.png" /></a> <br />
<br />
I love Chewy.com and was thrilled to work with them again for this review.<br />
Chewy.com has many brands of pet food to offer. They also offer treats, toys, clean up supplies, leashes, collars, and much more.<br />
My favorite thing about Chewy.com would have to be their customer service. I order our cat food from them (it's so much cheaper at Chewy.com than anywhere else, another plus!) and have had to contact customer service on two occasions and both times they were very prompt and incredibly kind. They didn't make me want to pull my hair out and they didn't make me feel like it was my fault.<br />
<br />
Chewy.com asked us to review <a href="http://www.chewy.com/s/orijen,Form_facet:Treats" target="_blank">Orijen Freeze Dried treats</a>. <br />
Chewy.com offers Orijen's dog food, cat food, and dog treats. Orijen's foods and treats are made in Canada.<br />
We were sent the Original flavor of their freeze dried treats. Here's a description of them from Chewy.com:<br />
<br />
<i>No lazy lap dogs here… these treats are just for the
rough-and-tumble, ready-to-wag pups. Orijen Original Freeze-Dried Dog
Treats are filled with tasty chicken, turkey, and flounder to provide
your pet with a protein-rich snack that's made without any
preservatives, fillers, or artificial flavors. Each grain-free treat
only has seven calories, and is freeze-dried to lock in all of the
nutritional content and flavor. 5 Star reviews across the board! </i><br />
<i>
</i><i><b> </b></i><br />
<i><b>Key Benefits</b></i><br />
<i>
</i>
<br />
<ul>
<li><i>Made with high-quality protein sources</i></li>
<li><i>Preservative-free</i></li>
<li><i>Grain-free</i></li>
<li><i>Low-calorie, freeze-dried dog treats </i></li>
</ul>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo orijenfreezedried.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/orijenfreezedried.png" /></a><br />
<br />
They're basically the dog equivalent of cat nip (or crack). <br />
My dogs went <u><i>insane</i></u> for these treats.<br />
I'm not kidding. I could probably train them to back flip for them.<br />
Look at this crazed look Lassie got in his eyes:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo musthavelass.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/musthavelass.png" /></a><br />
<br />
And Petal, or Miss Talks A Lot, is more quick to end her loud conversations (complete with obnoxious "dancing") with neighborhood dogs when I bring these treats on our walks. Which quickly made them a five star training treat in my eyes.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo patiencepetal.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/patiencepetal.png" /></a><br />
<br />
Even Petal's picky friend Pepper devoured half of one and then demanded the other half. This dog usually won't take any dog treats from me.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo pickypepper.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pickypepper.png" /></a><br />
<br />
They're soft treats. You can easily pinch smaller pieces off of it. They crumble easily and would probably work well to bribe finicky eaters to eat their dinner. That also makes them a bit messy though, but my dogs will happily lick up every last crumb.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo orijentreat.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/orijentreat.png" /></a><br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo goingforgold.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/goingforgold.png" /></a><br />
<br />
They don't have a super strong odor (which is a big plus), but they aren't something you want to go inhaling deep breaths of. Unless you're a dog, of course.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo wanttreatlassie.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/wanttreatlassie.png" /></a><a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ofcoursetreat.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/ofcoursetreat.png" /></a><a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo lassorijen.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/lassorijen.png" /></a><a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo yumlassorijen.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/yumlassorijen.png" /></a><br />
While my dogs love how these treats taste, I love that they're high quality and the ingredients are simple:<br />
<i>Cobb chicken liver, turkey liver, boneless Cobb chicken, boneless turkey, boneless flounder.</i><br />
<br />
That's it! That's all that's in them.<br />
<br />
They only down side to them is, they are rather pricey. Though I suppose that's to be expected for a high quality treat.<br />
<br />
The dogs give them 4 out of 4 paws for deliciousness.<br />
<a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><a href="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png"><img alt=" photo pawprintrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pawprintrating2.png" /></a><br />
<br />
I give them 5 out of 5 hearts for their high quality.<br />
<img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><br />
<br />
And 4 hearts for cost.<br />
<img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><img alt=" photo heartrating2.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/heartrating2.png" /><br />
<br />
Overall, we really loved these treats! We would definitely buy them and recommend them to our friends. Next time you're in need for a high quality training treat, head over to <a href="http://www.chewy.com/s/orijen">Chewy.com</a>!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo pouncefororijen.png" border="0" src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/pouncefororijen.png" /></a><br />
<i>Learning to back flip (just kidding).</i><br />
<br />
<br />
<i>Discloser: I was sent one bag of Orijen freeze dried treats from Chewy.com for review purposes. I was not compensated for this review. All opinions expressed are my own. </i></div>

Both pictures were taken on sunnier days.<br />
Today is very windy and the sun is mostly hiding behind the clouds. Looks like it may even rain.<br />
<br />
Our summer has been pretty mild so far. It's only been ridiculously hot for a day or two. I can only hope it stays this way. However it is only June, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. Who knows what kind of heat July and August will bring us.</div>

Petal and Pepper had some fun at a friend's house yesterday.<br />
We ran, we played fetch, we rolled in the grass, we worked on some training and I even convinced Petal to run through the sprinklers with me.<br />
<i>"Your Collie willingly got wet?!"</i><br />
Yes she did. Well, sort of. I bribed her.<br />
With a couple pieces of a Zuke's treat.<br />
;)<br />

<i>"Can I have another treat?"</i><br />
<br />
We played a few games of fetch with Petal's favorite ball.<br />

And Pepper played a game or two or three of tug as well.<br />
<br />

<br />
Then I had a couple of <i>very</i> happy girls on my hands.<br />

<i>I love it when Petal looks like she's smiling a big cheesy grin with her eyes closed blissfully.</i><br />
<br />
Now we're having a sleepy, lazy Saturday (after we took our morning walk, of course).<br />
What are you dogs up to this Saturday?<br />
<br />
P.S. Only a few more hours to enter our <a href="http://twocolliesandamutt.blogspot.com/2013/06/review-giveaway-contest-kong-treats.html" target="_blank">KONG Treats giveaway</a>!<br />
Feel free to tell your friends!</div>

Sunday evening I went for a walk with Petal and my youngest sister around the university campus. It's beautiful there with all it's trees and flowers and beautiful landscaping.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's some of what we saw on our walk.</div>

<br />
A winding path...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/9072311147_1f58b544ba_z.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 9072311147_1f58b544ba_z.jpg"/></a><br />

<br />
And I saw plenty of this cute booty...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/9074596190_f408ed358a_z.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 9074596190_f408ed358a_z.jpg"/></a>
<br />
<br />

<i>"I am Queen of all the land!"</i><br />
<br />
I had her climb up on this rock. She looked pretty proud of herself up there.<br />
Even though I had her in a stay, I had my sister hold her leash while I took pictures. We were too close to a busy road for my comfort.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/9074604264_ca4ca85e8a_z.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 9074604264_ca4ca85e8a_z.jpg"/></a> <br />

<i>"You gotta use the crosswalk to cross the street!" </i><br />
<br />
Petal also met a 15 year old buddy named Rufus. He was out for a stroll with his human too.<br />
I didn't get any pictures of that though.<br />
<br />
<i> </i><a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/marquielove/2colliesmuttblog/9072365931_626ba6402c_z.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 9072365931_626ba6402c_z.jpg"/></a><br />
<i>Petal exactly where she belongs: with the petals. ;)</i><br />
<br />
It was a beautiful, relaxing walk.<br />
<br />
<br />
P.S. If you haven't already, please go send some love to Benny & Lily of <a href="http://www.twofrenchbulldogs.com/" target="_blank">Two French Bulldogs</a>.<br />

Also,<br />
